Corona, CA – Wrong Way Collision Injures Elderly Driver
Corona, CA (November 17, 2018) – Sixth Street between Sherman Avenue and Smith Avenue was shut down for several hours on Friday evening due to a serious head-on collision between two vehicles.
According to witnesses, a Nissan traveling east on Sixth Street, driven by a 45-year-old Corona man, suddenly crossed the center line and was headed the wrong way through westbound traffic. The driver of the Nissan then struck a Kia SUV causing the driver, an 83-year-old man from San Bernardino, was ejected through the windshield of the SUV as a result of the collision. Both drivers received immediate medical transport to Riverside Community Hospital where they received treatment for the major injuries they had each sustained.
The names and updated condition of either gentleman have not yet been released. Local authorities are still looking into the cause of the accident.
