Contra Costa County, CA – Fatal Two Car Accident on Route 4
Contra Costa County, CA (August 9, 2018) – Route 4 was the site of a fatal two-car collision on Thursday. The crash took place at the Old River Bridge in Contra Costa County.
According to initial reports, the crash took place just after 8:30 am. At that time, a driver lost control of their vehicle after hitting gravel. The driver spun out before colliding with a pickup truck. Paramedics rushed to the scene of the crash where they discovered one person suffering from critical injuries.
Lifesaving efforts were unsuccessful as the person died from their injuries. It is not clear whether the deceased victim was in the car or the pickup truck. Tow trucks were called to the scene to remove the wreckage.
California Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. A cause of the collision has not been determined at this time.
