Motorcycle Accidents in California
California boasts the largest number of motorcycle riders out of all 50 states. With more than 800,000 registered riders, motorcycles are a common enough sight on California roadways. Sadly, along with the highest number of riders comes the highest number of motorcycle accidents in the nation as well. Due to the exposed nature of the rider, accidents involving motorcycles have a higher fatality rate than those involving cars or trucks. The accidents that do not result in a fatality have a higher percentage of victims who end up paralyzed, brain damaged, or permanently disabled in some other way.
Motorcyclists have as much of a right to the use of California’s beautiful and scenic highways as any other type of vehicle. When injured, motorcycle riders deserve the same consideration and compensation that would be awarded to the victim of a regular car accident.
