Citrus Heights, CA – 19-Year-Old Arrested After Fatal Car Accident
Citrus Heights, CA (October 11, 2018) – 19-year-old Christina Diaz was arrested after a fatal car accident that took place on Greenback Lane. The accident happened on October 9, Tuesday, and was deemed a hit-and-run accident.
Around 6:30 p.m. at the time of the accident, Diaz had been driving a Toyota Camry when she intentionally crashed into a Dodge Van, according to officials. The Camry then went over the center median and veered into the other lanes of the roadway where it struck a Mercedes-Benz sedan. The driver of the Mercedes was identified as 45-year-old Audrey Tagintsev, who was killed in the accident.
The occupants of the Dodge Van suffered injuries as well and were taken to the hospital.
Diaz tried to run from the scene before police arrived. She was then located by police, who took her into custody, where she was charged with four felony counts.
Police continue their investigation at this time.
