Ceres, CA – Multiple People Injured in Serious Hit-and-Run Accident
Ceres, CA (January 6, 2019) – Police say that multiple people were injured in a serious hit-and-run accident. Five people, including two children, were injured in the accident that took place at Service and Mitchell Roads on Thursday this week.
The suspect who fled the scene has since been caught and was identified as 42-year-old Joe Patrick Sandoval. Sandoval had been driving his Honda Accord when he struck a Sentra at the intersection.
Three adults as well as two children, aged 8 and 9, were in the Nissan when it was struck and received a variety of injuries. All are expected to recover. The children received more serious injuries than the adults.
Sandoval immediately fled the scene and was captured by police and had lacerations to his face as well as broken ribs. He was hospitalized and then charged with felony hit-and-run.
