Burbank, CA – Bicyclist on Charity Trek Dies Following Rear-End Collision Near Salinas
Burbank, CA (July 30, 2023) – Over the weekend, a musician from Burbank was killed in Monterey County on his way back after a month-long charity trip.
On Saturday, July 29, the man was riding his bicycle and approaching Salinas when a pickup truck rear-ended him. The man was reportedly completing the final part of his 2,500-mile trek for charity.
Despite life-saving measures by EMTs, who rushed to the scene shortly after the incident occurred, the man was pronounced dead.
Troopers with the California Highway Patrol are handling the ongoing investigation and did not say if the driver involved stayed at the scene.
