Belmont, CA – Hit and Run Ends in Fatality
Belmont, CA (November 19, 2018) – The victim of a fatal hit and run that took place this morning around 7:00 AM has been identified as Maria Castro, 61, of the Belmont area.
According to a report from the local authorities, Castro was found lying in the roadway when they responded to the scene of the accident, which took place in the southbound lanes of Cipriani Boulevard near Newlands Avenue. Castro was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. In a stroke of luck, investigating officers found a nearby house whose home security cameras had captured a portion of the incident. They are now looking for a small, possibly grey SUV similar in body style to a Toyota RAV4.
