Barstow, CA – Three Seriously Injured After Accident on 15 Freeway
Barstow, CA (August 23, 2018) – An accident on the 15 Freeway left three seriously injured on Tuesday evening. The accident happened between a motor vehicle and a big rig.
The accident happened around 11:24 p.m. late Tuesday night near the Lenwood Road ramp. A 2016 Toyota Camry had been trying to merge onto the Freeway from the east when it suddenly went off the road.
The car went onto the northbound side of the Freeway, where it put itself right in the path of a tractor-trailer truck. The truck collided with the driver’s side of the Camry.
Police identified a 22-year-old woman as the driver of the Camry. She had two passengers with her identified as a man and a woman. They were all pinned inside the vehicle so firefighters had to release them from the wreckage. All three people were flown to trauma centers to be treated for life-threatening injuries.
The accident closed down the northbound lanes of the Freeway for an hour. It is still being investigated at this time.
