Bakersfield, CA – One Person Killed After Fatal Accident on Highway
Bakersfield, CA (January 2, 2019) – Police say that one person was killed and two others were seriously injured in a fatal accident that took place along Highway 58. The accident took place around 6:30 p.m. on Sunday night.
The California Highway Patrol said that a 2010 Ford was traveling west on the highway when, for reasons that are still not known, it rear-ended a 2017 Subaru.
Police found that the Ford had gone from the number 3 lane into the number 4 lane where it collided with a Dodge. From there, the Ford was forced back into the original lane, where it struck a Honda. Multiple vehicles became involved in the crash.
A resident from Bakersfield had been in the Honda at the time and was tragically killed at the scene as a result. Two passengers in the Honda also received a variety of injuries and were taken to the hospital for treatment.
No names have yet been released and the accident remains under investigation at this time.
