Bakersfield, CA – Elderly Driver Injured in Merle Haggard Drive Crash
Bakersfield, CA (October 9, 2018) – 85-year-old Charles Baker was injured in a serious Merle Haggard Drive crash that took place on Sunday, October 7 around 4:30 p.m., just west of Wings Way.
A 2005 Honda Accord was speeding east on the roadway when the driver lost control of the vehicle. The Accord ran into the center divider and collided with a 2008 Buick, with Baker as the driver. Baker sustained injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
The other motorist who had been speeding, 32-year-old Monica Barnett, was taken to another hospital and later died due to her injuries.
Both were wearing seatbelts when the accident took place. At this time, the investigation continues.
