Bakersfield, CA – Three Kids Injured, BPD Seeking Suspect After Bicycle Accident on Planz Rd
Bakersfield, CA (July 31, 2023) – According to the Bakersfield Police Department, three children were hurt in a hit-and-run accident, and one of the victims was left with life-threatening injuries.
On Sunday night at around 9:00 p.m., officers with the BPD reported to the 2300 block of Planz Road for a hit-and-run involving a car and several bicyclists.
A brown or gold Kia Forte rear-ended three children who were riding their bikes eastward in the two-way left turn lane, per officers on the scene.
Two of the children were rushed to the emergency room, and one was evaluated for minor injuries at the scene.
The ages of the victims were not released by the Bakersfield PD, who are handling the active and ongoing accident investigation.
