Bakersfield, CA – Teen Hospitalized in Crash at Jewetta Ave & Brimhall Rd

Bakersfield, CA (August 21, 2023) – According to officers with the Bakersfield Police Department, a 13-year-old child is in serious condition at a local hospital after being hit by a car near Liberty Park.

The Jewetta Avenue and Brimhall Road intersection was shut down after the crash, which occurred shortly before 4:00 p.m.

A vehicle heading west on Brimhall Road allegedly hit and injured the teenage boy, who was crossing the street at Jewetta Avenue.

The police have determined that drugs, alcohol, and speed were not contributors to the crash and that the driver stayed at the scene.

Police in Bakersfield are asking that witnesses with information about the collision contact them.
