Bakersfield, CA – Head-On-Crash Kills One Man and Leaves Another Injured on Highway 43
Bakersfield, CA (October 18, 2018) – According to The California Highway Patrol, a 27-year-old man was killed and another injured in a head-on collision on Highway 43. The incident transpired at approximately 4:10 pm on Wednesday, October 17, on Enos Lane south of Stockdale Highway. At this time, no detailed information concerning the identity of the deceased victim has been released.
The initial police report indicates that 39-year-old Francisco Morales of Bakersfield was driving a Chevrolet Malibu southbound on Highway 43 just south of Munzer Road. According to investigators, the Chevrolet Malibu started to drift to the west side of the road, before turning the vehicle to the left causing it to go into the northbound lanes. Francisco Morales collided head-on with an oncoming Nissan, killing the driver upon impact.
The events leading up to the crash were not immediately established. Sometime later, emergency crews were dispatched to the scene and rendered aid to the injured victim. The unidentified, 27-year-old man driving the Nissan died at the scene of the accident. Morales suffered major injuries and was transported to Kern Medical Center for further evaluation.
