Bakersfield, CA – Fatal Car Accident at Lerdo Hwy & Driver Rd

Bakersfield, CA (August 14, 2023) – Shafter police said that one person was killed in a multiple-vehicle collision near Bakersfield on Monday afternoon.

According to the CHP’s Traffic Incident Information Page, the incident occurred just after 4:30 p.m. near the intersection of East Lerdo Highway and Driver Road.

Per the SPD, there was one fatality and two vehicles involved, and one of the cars caught fire due to the collision. The total number of victims and any other injuries remain unclear, though officers are still investigating.
