Bakersfield, CA – 14-Year-old Skateboarder Injured in Accident
Bakersfield, CA (October 5, 2018) – A 14-year-old skateboarder was seriously injured in a crash that happened at Mt. Vernon and California. The accident happened Thursday on the afternoon of October 4.
The California Highway Patrol responded to the scene around 3 p.m. and said that a 14-year-old boy was riding his skateboard when he was suddenly struck by an SUV in the intersection between both avenues.
Paramedics immediately responded to the scene and found that the teenage rider was conscious and breathing after the accident. He was immediately transported to the hospital with major injuries.
The driver who struck the boy might or might not have stopped at the scene. Police continue to investigate the accident at this time.
