Apple Valley, CA – 1 Killed, 1 Critically Injured in I-15 Crash
Apple Valley, CA (July 26, 2019) – A driver was tragically killed and a passenger was severely injured in a traffic collision Thursday afternoon. The devastating accident occurred at 2:11 p.m. on Interstate 15, south of Stoddard Wells Road in Bell Mountain.
Reports claim that a semi-tractor trailer was parked on the right shoulder due to mechanical issues when a Charcoal Gray Dodge Ram slammed into the back of the semi-tractor trailer. The Charcoal Gray Dodge Ram was reportedly towing a recreational trailer at the time of the accident. The aftermath of the crash left the front of the Dodge wedged underneath the semi-truck trailer.
Unfortunately, the driver of the Dodge perished on impact and his identity has yet to be released to the public. A female passenger in the Dodge was extricated from the wreckage and airlifted to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center with critical injuries. The occupants of the semi-truck trailer were unharmed during the accident. Whether drugs, alcohol or human negligence factored into this accident is unknown at this time. Authorities are currently investigating the accident.
