Alameda County, CA: Car Crashes into Little Caesars Pizza in Fremont
Alameda County, California (February 22, 2018): One person was injured late Saturday morning, February 17, 2018, when a 1999 Honda Civic crashed through the front of the Little Ceasars Pizza at Thornton Avenue and Dusterberry Way in Fremont, CA. Authorities believe the driver, an unidentified 80-year-old man, mistook the vehicle’s gas pedal for the brake pedal while trying to park in front of the restaurant.
The driver did not report sustaining any injuries as a result of the crash, but an unidentified 65-year-old man who was a customer in the restaurant suffered potentially serious injuries after becoming pinned under the vehicle. Firefighters, officers, and paramedics all worked to extricate the victim and he was swiftly transported to a nearby hospital. No updates on his condition have been provided.
